It is the policy of Florence-Darlington Technical College (91¿ì»îÁÖ) that eligible employees may participate in political activity including running for federal, state, county, local or other office so long as no government personnel, equipment, or materials are used, and the employees’ job responsibilities do not suffer. Eligible employees include all employees of 91¿ì»îÁÖ, with the exception of those funded either in whole or in part by federal funds. Employees who opt to participate in political activity must do so on their own time and on non-government premises. Employees may be requested to go on leave without pay if his/her political activity interferes with his/her job responsibilities.

Where there are conflicts or inconsistencies between this policy and the Ethics Act of 1991, the provisions of the Ethics Act will take precedence.
