30-31 Teaching Load and Overload

It is the policy of Florence-Darlington Technical College to assign faculty teaching loads and overloads within the guidelines established by the College.

The College will establish the teaching/work load within the parameters of the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education policy 8-2-103, procedure 8-2-103.1. The established maximum teaching/work load must be exceeded before consideration of any overload compensation or compensatory load reduction is given.

The President may increase the teaching workload of permanent faculty during a specific financial exigency period with the approval of the Area Commission. Notice will be made to faculty in advance of any increase in teaching workload. See Procedure 31-32.

The College policy and procedure for faculty teaching loads and overloads are subject to review and concurrence by the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education.
